Online Course Description
I’m offering crafty fashionistas an hour tutorial via Zeqr to learn how to turn their iconic IKEA Frakta shopping bag into anything from boots, wallets to rain macs.
The Fraka shopper bag is made from nylon and plastic - two man-made synthetics that when woven, becomes impeccably durable and water resistant.
A material like this, naturally lends itself to restructuring, mainly because of its sheer strength. Its stiff composition allows its to be remodeled easily into simply and bright garments.
I've partnered with Zeqr, so I can offer a handful of would-be designers a one to one or one to many tutorial to show them how to transform their Fraka into fashion. In the online tutorial, I plan to tackle outwear and shoes, but also accessories like; across the body bags, shoppers and wallets.
The tutorial will demonstrate how to deconstructure the Fraka shopping bag, how cut the fabric with a paper pattern and how to reconstruct it into whatever garment is desired.
The tutorial will be set upon request.

My name is Louis and I’m a designer with four years experience in fashion design. I studied BA Fashion at Manchester School of Art specialising in menswear and graduated with a high 2:1.
During the BA degree, I learnt industry skills such as; pattern cutting, tailoring and construction as well as fabric manipulation and traditional sewing technique.
Since graduating, I’ve gone on to curate my first collection which has been featured in the likes of i-D, DAZED and the Sunday Times.
I've also completed internships with All Saints, Vin + Omi and Charles Jeffrey.
I’ve joined Zeqr to share my knowledge with other young fashion designers. My aim is twofold - to help students who are struggling with specific modules in their course and, to offer skills to those who want to kick start career in fashion.
I can take requests for certain classes and will look to teach topics that are in high demand.
