Learn to become your own therapist! This session is a basic introduction to how cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) will help you to improve and maintain your mental wellbeing. In this session, we will cover the basics of CBT; what it means, how it works, common difficulties it can help with, and how it helps you. This session is mandatory in order to understand or benefit from any further classes of mine. I will provide you with tools and techniques across my sessions that I regularly use in the NHS in my role as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner, which will allow you to benefit from evidence-based therapy delivered on a national scale in the United Kingdom. Please note that this is a lecture only and is only suitable for mild to moderate stress, anxiety and low mood. I will not be able to provide you with one-to-one support or advice. If you feel like you need some further support or advice, please contact your General Practitioner to seek more accessible support.
