Online Course Description
I have a masters degree in astronomy and mathematics and I am here to help with any and all astrophysical/mathematical needs. I have advanced experience in all areas of astrophysics such as plasma physics, relativity, radio and optical instrumentation, stellar physics, cosmology, data analysis and statistics (Bayesian, frequentist and Poisson). I also have experience in complimentary areas of mathematics such as Newtonian and relativistic mechanics, magnetohydrodynamics, fluid mechanics and variational methods. If you struggle with any of these areas I would endeavour to describe the content as clearly and as simply as possible with an emphasis on the underlying mathematics as that's how my mind works. I have selected 1 hour for the class duration but that is not set in stone, it can be longer if you'd like. I will also make tailored examples and content for your needs and can keep in easy contact with you over Skype/WhatsApp/other social media for any lingering/quick questions that either can't wait until the next session or may be easily answered. I will be available most days and most times so let me know what suits you.

I am a recent graduate with a masters degree in Astronomy and Mathematics from the University of Glasgow. I am about to embark on a solar physics PhD at the University of Glasgow looking at methods for combing through large data to identify features on the solar surface. This will be applied to the data obtained by the Daniel K. Inouye solar telescope when it sees first light in (hopefully) 2019. I have a passion for astrophysics and mathematics (particularly applied mathematics) and have dabbled in all areas during my study. I am most confident in plasma and stellar physics but I also have substantial knowledge in relativity, variational methods, instrumentation and cosmology. I am happy to help with anything that crosses your mind and I am more than competent at problem solving and teaching. I have taught mathematics and physics before at my high school and tutoring high school students. I have also tutored astronomy to students in their first couple of years at university. All of my students have had positive results.
