Michael started his career as a Site Engineer, before then moving on to a role as a Consultant Project Manager. In this position he gained many years experience on major construction projects, including the largest PPP/PFI projects in Ireland. He also specialised in Development Monitoring for financial institutions & Capital Allowances Analysis.
After 4-5 years managing large design teams on projects in Ireland & UK, including the U2 Tower, he moved on to a role with a Developer working on a €1bn portfolio of properties (40 storey tower, shopping mall etc)
Michael then established Providence Projects in 2008, a project and development management consultancy, which later merged with Fahy Fitzpatrick Consulting Engineers in 2010. The businesses further expanded to include Eco Smart and Providence ADR.
In 2013 he took a position with Urban Exposure in London, a lender in development. He worked on circa 10 projects. The projects ranged from urban renewal to super prime properties all in the Greater London area.
Having gained valuable experience in the finance sector , in 2015 he moved to a leading developer as a development manager working on large high end residential developments in central London. For various reasons he was offered a role with the primary investors to oversee their portfolio of property in the UK (£0.5bn). His title was Head of Real Estate Development, but there were many and varied streams to this, from pure development, to streamlining project funding across projects and taking advantage of the scale of the portfolio to make any savings possible.
A change in direction of the corporate group away from real estate has meant that once the projects invested in were complete, Michael's role changed. He now works as a consultant part time for the group whilst also pursuing the establishment of his own development entity. He is currently working on 2-3 sites with investors he has brought together.
